About Chess Fundamentals Training

Building a solid chess foundation is the first move toward long-term success in thinking, competition, and strategic growth. This course is designed for beginners and young players who want to master the basics, avoid early mistakes, and build confidence from the first move. With solid fundamentals, students lay the groundwork to become strong, creative, and resilient chess players — whether recreational or competitive.

Rules & Piece Movement:

Understanding the board, how each piece moves, legal moves, castling, check, checkmate, and stalemate

Opening Fundamentals:

Basic opening principles, development, controlling the center, safe king placement

Tactics & Patterns

Key tactical ideas like forks, pins, skewers, discovered attacks, and various threats

Middle Game Planning

Organizing your pieces, pawn structure basics, planning and positional thinking

Endgame Essentials

Basic king and pawn endings, checkmate with a king + rook vs king, opposition, and promotion ideas

Strategy & Thinking Ahead

Planning sequences of moves, avoiding blunders, thinking several moves in the future

Game Review & Improvement

Analyzing individual games with the coach, spotting mistakes, and turning losses into learning opportunities

Live & Online Play

Participating in our live and online chess events to sharpen your chess skills, and meeting other chess players like you.
