Meet Andra Fehmiu, a fourth-year student at Harvard University, majoring in Applied Mathematics in Economics.
Andra decided to join our ICK team during her four weeks in Kosovo before she heads out to New York for her summer internship in investment management. Andra describes her experience at ICK as follows: “I combined my interest in both finance and technology by undertaking various projects that involved analyzing the investment in startup businesses in Kosovo and by working with the ICK team to find ways to further engage investors locally and internationally in nurturing local startups.
Having been exposed to the startup culture no farther than on my university’s campus at the Harvard Innovation Lab, I have come to understand the importance as well as the social and economic benefits of fostering a local startup culture. So, I truly enjoyed working at ICK because it gave me the opportunity to work at the epicenter for technology and startup support and growth in Kosovo. It also enabled me to use my knowledge of finance and investment to better understand and examine the startup culture in my home country.
I am a firm advocate of building a sustainable startup environment in Kosovo in order to reap its economic and social benefits, just as other developed countries have—and I’m very excited to further collaborate with ICK on their next projects and initiatives to advance startup business in Kosovo!”.
