USAID’s Justice Activity is organizing the first ever Justice Innovation Summit in Kosovo. The one-day summit will be an opportunity to Launch the Justice Innovation Network, and to inform the greater public about the importance of introducing innovative solutions in the justice system, as well as the importance of putting the people/citizens in the center of those solutions. The Summit will take place at Klan Arena in Prishtina, on October 6, starting from 09:00AM.

October 02, 2022The Justice Innovation Network established earlier this year is a mechanism that puts together justice service providers, civil society organizations, businesses, and international donor communities in one place to enable them to talk about the challenges/issues in the justice system in Kosovo and find innovative ways to deal with those challenges/issues.
USAID has been implementing their global People-Centered Justice approach in all its activities through its Justice Activity in Kosovo. This approach intends to place the people/end-users in the center of solutions, meaning that all the created solutions are there to allow citizens to have better access to justice services, feel valued and have a voice. Procedural Justice Initiative is one of the people-centered approaches that Justice Activity has been implementing in all Basic Courts and Constitutional Court. Procedural Justice implies that the justice seeker should be able to have easy access to courts services and be treated with dignity.
The Summit, scheduled for October 6, 2022 (from 09:00 - 15:00, at Klan Arena), will gather over 100 people from diverse backgrounds, including justice-providing institutions, civil society organizations, businesses, international organizations, citizens, students/young people, innovators, and media. This event, besides officially launching the Justice Innovation Network, will bring together innovators from Kosovo and the region, to discuss different innovations implemented and share success stories and experiences through a panel discussion. Furthermore, the event will show and promote innovations introduced by USAID and others in the justice system in Kosovo for the past 20 years. It will, also, use the opportunity to include all the attendees in a Design Thinking session, to discuss the issues and challenges that different stakeholders are facing, and to brainstorm potential solutions.
This shall be a high-level event, opened by the USAID Mission Director, which will have keynote speakers from the region and panel members from justice institutions.
