Background
The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH and KfW Development Bank have been working in Kosovo on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) since 1999.
GIZ advises and supports Kosovo in its efforts to achieve political stability and democracy based on the rule of law. As part of this process, programmes which boost the economy, improve the education system, build a decentralised public administration and reduce youth unemployment are also receiving support. The overarching long-term goal is Kosovo’s accession to the European Union (EU).
KfW Development Bank has been assisting Kosovo to establish an efficient and sustainable power supply, upgrade municipal infrastructure and promote small enterprises, so that they can evolve into an engine to power the Kosovan economy.
Thus, the German Development Cooperation will celebrate this year its 20-year anniversary in Kosovo. The German Embassy to Kosovo, GIZ and KfW together will work in coordination regarding all festivities during the year.
A series of events are planned to happen around September-October 2019, therefore, we are going to look for designers or creative agencies, who want to participate with their concepts and create an identity for this purpose.
Logo design objective
The logo will be used for the activities which are going to be held during the year, with high intensity in September and October.
The logo should have visual impact and high design integrity and should work in a variety of media (print, online, clothing, outdoor signage, etc.)
Scope of Work
Through a panel consisting of representatives from the German Embassy, GIZ Kosovo, KfW, Ministry of Finance and two professional graphic designers, the winning logo will be selected. The winner will undertake the following tasks:
1. Design details, including;
a. Logo design concepts in hard copy and electronically to be sent to GIZ and the working team;
b. The logo concept should be accompanied by a brief description of how the logo was developed and what characteristics, values and messages it imparts.
c. Brief logo usage guidelines; including how small it could be used, colour codes, grey scale version, how the logo is used on dark backgrounds etc.
2. Develop all aspects of brand book, including:
• Logo
• Typography
• Colour and palette
• Photography style
• Folders
• Brochures
• Roll up banner
• Pens
• T-shirts
• Hat
For other items of brand book as mentioned under point 2 of this Scope of Work, the selected winner will submit proposals and jointly with the working team decide on the final version of the items.
Deliverables
The logo package of the selected logo should be supplied with a variety of file types and resolutions in full colour for use in different applications.
Timeline:
The overall activity will occur during two-days round, please see agenda attached!
Overnight stay at ICK for maximum access to our space and your creativity.
Selection process: The panel consists of representatives from the German Embassy, GIZ, KfW, Ministry of Finance and two professional graphic designers.
Award: The winner/winning team will receive an award of 1,000 EUR.
ATTENTION: If the organizers discover any signs of plagiarism, they have the right to disqualify the person/team involved.
Criteria:
Graphic designers and/or people passionate for logo design should be able to:
• Upload three of their best works;
• Fill out the registration form (individually or as a team)
• Be Kosovo citizens.
